About Lee Levitt

Lee Levitt helps companies grow by changing how their salespeople engage buyers. Sales in service of the buyer, not the number. The numbers get stronger as a result.

Twenty years ago I said it out loud

Running the Sales Advisory Practice at IDC, I said out loud: I'm going to fix how the tech industry sells.

I wasn't sure yet what I was taking aim at. I just knew it was broken. Deals that should have closed died for no reason anyone could name. Talented sellers underperformed inside systems that reinforced the wrong things. Buyers came away worse for the encounter. Something at the center of it was wrong, and I couldn't yet say what.

So I went looking. Two decades of it. As an analyst studying how the industry sold, as an enablement and sales leader building teams inside Oracle and Google, as a coach working with sellers one at a time. Every seat was a place to gather evidence and test a hypothesis. Slowly the thing I'd been taking aim at came into focus, and it turned out to have a name.

On July 25, 2026, I finished the first major part of that work: Together We Win. Twenty years in the making.

What I found

Most sales organizations have it backwards. They point everything at the number, the quota, the forecast, the close, and wonder why the number keeps slipping.

Here is the cost. Between 40 and 60% of qualified, forecasted deals close as no decision. Not lost to a competitor. Not lost to price. Lost to a buyer who agreed with everything and then couldn't move. It's the largest category of loss in B2B selling, and most organizations can't even name it.

The cause is a belief system I call the Religion: the unspoken conviction that selling is information delivery. That was true once, when the seller held information the buyer couldn't get anywhere else. It stopped being true decades ago. The buyer now has more information than the rep. What they don't have is someone who can guide them through a decision that scares them.

The fix isn't a new methodology, a new tech stack, or a reorg. It's a shift in how salespeople engage the customer: from delivering information to guiding a nervous human being through a consequential decision.

The body of work

Together We Win is a movement.

It starts with the diagnosis: the Religion, and why 40 to 60% of deals die in no decision. It answers that diagnosis with frameworks a team can actually use, STUCK, for reading why a deal is frozen, and PATH, for what a rep brings when they guide rather than pitch. It puts those ideas in reps' hands through tools, including Jack, an AI sales coach that works a stuck deal or preps a meeting with a rep the way a good coach would. And it's carried by two books, one for sellers, one for the leaders who build the teams.

The books

The Second Meeting is a business fable about Alex Mercer, a VP of Sales who rediscovers what it means to truly show up for a buyer. It introduces the PATH framework through story rather than instruction. Available now.

Together We Win is for the leaders who build the teams. It lays out the operating system behind the fable: the mindset, the methodology, and the leadership practices that make the shift stick. General release September 2026.

Working with me

Advisory. Strategic, prescriptive engagements for leaders who need to know what to do, and what to do differently. The low-hanging fruit you can fix this quarter, and the longer-term investments that change the trajectory. Strategic and hands-on.

Speaking. Keynotes and workshops for sales kickoffs, leadership offsites, and industry events, on why buyers freeze and what it takes to move them. Provocative, specific, built on real numbers rather than slogans.

The evidence trail

Twenty years of it, from every seat.

Former IDC analyst, where I built and ran the Sales Advisory Practice and launched the first industry research into sales enablement, working with HP, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and Salesforce.

Decades as a practitioner and sales leader. At Oracle and Google I drove $500M+ and $750M+ in new pipeline and roughly $2B in strategic account revenue, co-developed the Oracle Value Selling Methodology, and facilitated 300+ account planning sessions.

Thirty years coaching enterprise sellers, certified in the Oracle Value Selling and the Inner Game methodologies. Co-founder of the Sales Enablement Society.

I diagnosed this problem from the outside as an analyst, lived it from the inside as a leader, coached hundreds of sellers, managers and leaders through it one at a time, and now I help companies fix it where it scales.
